Reports have been gathered by Yvrshoots.com that a “Power Rangers” movie will be directed by Dean Israelite (“Project Almanac”) and boasts of a big budget. Filming was said to begin in January 18, 2016 in Vancouver and wrap up by April 12, 2016. Although the dates may change, fans of the Sentai franchise are already gearing up for its release.
“Mighty Morphin Power Rangers” started as a TV series about a group of teenagers who have the capability to morph into super-powered warriors to safeguard the world from alien invaders and eventually became a pop culture phenomenon in the 1990s.
Finally, things are falling into place and soon fans and new viewers alike will get to see “Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Movie.” Vine Report has learned Zack Stentz (“X-Men: First Class”) and Ashley Miller apparently are establishing a “mature” account of the script drafted by writers Matt Sazama (“The Last Witch Hunter”) and Burk Sharpless. The reboot will be produced by none other than “Power Rangers” franchise creator himself, Haim Saban.
Movie Pilot reported that “Power Rangers” will present the original characters of Jason, Zack, Billy, Kimberly and Trini, but will be given a different take. Villain Rita Repulsa and her loyal lackeys better suit up and prepare for the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers will beat them to a pulp.
Meanwhile, much of the success of the sentai franchise reboot will be the characters that hide behind the masks who’s in command of their Zords. According to Collider, “Power Rangers” fans will be glad to know that the reboot will go back to its roots and reconnect with some old friends.

Jason — the 17-year-old Red Ranger played as a freshman quarterback whose dreams get shattered after his car hit a pole busted his knee.
Kimberly — the Pink Ranger, was one of the popular and cool girls in school. After a 6 month absence in school, she returned with an edgy, rebel-without-a-cause attitude.
Trini — the Yellow Ranger who’s extremely bright and mysterious. Practically a loner, the 17-year-old is contemplative, self-sufficient but always observant.
Billy — the Blue Ranger is awkward and slight. He’s not able to interact socially and communicate well. Always odd despite being sweet and whip-smart.
Zack — the Black Ranger always brightens up the party. He’s filled with swagger and bravado and has a tough exterior.
