Sharp is set to blow every potato couch's mind with its newest TV offering that has the sharpest display yet in the market today. So goodbye to 4K televisions, and say hello to Sharp's 8K screens.
The technology in this modern time is moving at a really fast pace. Yesterday we had 4K resolutions on televisions, today Sharp shocked with its 8K "super-hi-vision" resolution flatscreen TVs.
However, it seems that the Japanese electronics and appliance maker is teasing the world with this technology as it has announced that its 8K televisions will only be available in the market for a limited time late next month, News.com.au has learned.
Obviously, Sharp's new product is turning heads and getting media frenzy because it offers far greater resolution than the already outstanding 4K display that may be now referred to as passé.
Comparing the two high-end displays, the 8K resolution that packs in 7680 x 4320 pixels is 16 times greater than full high-definition (1080p) televisions, and it is obviously four times sharper than the 4K models.
The BBC even speaks highly of the 8K televisions, saying that the image appears so detailed it can pass as three-dimensional to the human eyes.
However, there are two things that prospective buyers of this television should take note of: pricing and practicality.
The 85-inch screen is reportedly hitting the market with a price tag of $133,000, which is obviously too much for the not-so-rich and not-so-elite.
Another thing that could come in the way between the buyer and Sharp's 8K televisions is practicality. As of late, broadcast networks and streaming services are struggling to keep up with 4K, so it would seem that having an 8K screen inside your home could not be as stellar as you'd expect. But if you really want Sharp's newest technologically-advanced product, then you will need four HDMI inputs just to make us of the device's full capabilities, Herald Sun has noted.
