"Chucky 7," the upcoming movie sequel of the demonic doll who started his first killing in 1988, is reportedly haunting cinemas soon. With the latest tweet from movie director Don Mancini, fans are going ecstatic over the latest update on the "Child's Play" sequel.
Who would forget the notorious killer doll Chucky from "Child's Play," one of the creepiest horror movies more than two decades ago? Now, he is set to return on the big screen to make a much bigger impact. And "Chucky 7" director Don Mancini, who has written all the six movies in the "Child's Play" series and directed the last two films, teased his upcoming comeback in an illustrative tweet.
"ALL GOOD THINGS COME TO THOSE WHO WAIT #CHUCKY7 #ComingSoonish (Art by @mattryantobin)," Mancini posted on Twitter.
The latest "Chucky 7" tweet was not the first time Mancini teased "Child's Play" fans. In fact, he already initially tweeted about its sequel two years ago, in reference to the cliffhanging finale of the film's sixth installment, "Curse of Chucky," in 2013, Latino Post revealed.
"To the fans who've asked questions about Alice and the end of #CurseofChucky: All will be answered in part 7!" Mancini tweeted.
Since the official title has not been revealed yet, the sequel to the horror movie franchise is currently dubbed as "Chucky 7," which will follow the events of the 2013 film.
"I am working on Chucky 7, yes," Mancini told Collider. "It continues quite quickly on the last movie and Chucky bedevils [Fiona's] character again."
Mancini also hinted the possibility of delving deeper into the story of Chucky's children, twins Glen and Glenda in "Chucky 7." He added that though they have been just minority characters, he did love them and wanted to do something "surprising" about them.
"I wanted to do something surprising with it because I thought, people wouldn't expect the offspring of Chucky to be this pacifist, sweet-natured schizophrenic," he said. "Maybe the schizophrenic part. But, anyway, I do have ideas for those character and I do think about them a lot."
And when asked about his ideas, Mancini revealed that since nobody wanted to see a Chucky movie where there are no dolls involved, he's contemplating to make some human versions of the movie characters.
"I picture Glen and Glenda, the human versions of those characters," he added. "Now they'd be in high school. And you know, Glen is taking his boyfriend to the prom and Glenda is poisoning the punch. But their mom, Tiffany, is secretly stitching Chucky back together to wreak havoc on their lives and teach them lessons the way that fathers are always going to have to do to teenagers. Doesn't that sound great?"
As for "Chucky 7" cast, rumors have it that Fiona Dolurif (Nica Pierce) and Summer Howell (Alice) are coming back as well as Jennifer Tilly (Tiffany), Danielle Bisutti (Barbara Pierce), Brennan Elliott (Ian), Chantal Quesnelle (Sarah), A Martinez (Father Frank), Maitland McConnell (Jill) and of course, Brad Dourif (Chucky).
For "Chucky 7" release date, there are still no reports about it yet. But for sure, many fans are already excited about the sequel and proof to that are their reactions on Mancini's latest tweet compiled by Dread Central.
