The new 2016 Chevrolet Silverado is finally here and what makes GMC's new pickup truck very intriguing is the fact that it sports an overhauled design despite getting a massive change not too long ago — two years to be exact.
This week, the excitement over the new Silverado reached an all-time high when the GM Motors pickup arrived at the Texas State Fair in all its glory, USA Today has learned.
From its exterior alone, one can tell that the huge truck has received a facelift and has been transformed from the ground up.
The front-end of the vehicle has been redesigned to be more muscular. The font grille looks bolder and more eye-catchy. The trim levels come with LED signature daytime running lamps as well as park/turn lights. But the LT Z71 gets LED fog lamps as standard while the LT gets these lamps as optional upgrades.
The new Silverado has "smart" steering assist system in the heavy-duty versions in case you need to two heavy loads and trailers for that matter.
Driving is expected to be smooth and economical with the pickup truck's 5.3-liter V8 engine, according to The Motley Fool.
When it comes to its safety features, the 2016 Chevrolet Silverado comes with Lane Keep Assist and Forward Collision Alert. There is also the IntelliBeam feature that automatically turns the lights down in case you forgot to do so while someone is approaching the car.
Apart from the overhaul, however, the new Silverado has a huge boost when it comes to its high-tech features with the central screen getting the most notable update.
The pickup tuck now has the capacity to run apps straight off an Apple or Android smartphone via the available connectivity features of the vehicle.
Truck Yeah! also singled out CarPlay, which works by projecting the phone's app-menu into the central screen of the truck for infotainment purposes. However, the feature only supports iPhone 5, 6 and newer generations.
