“The Big Bang Theory” Season 9 is heading to CBS this Monday night for its second episode, and from the looks of it, fans will get to see more of Penny and Leonard’s breakup after their quick wedding in Las Vegas.
In the premiere episode of CBS' hit Geeky comedy, fans saw the quick matrimony between Kaley Cuoco's Penny and Johnny Galecki's Leonard only to see them again minutes later breaking up.
According to CBS, "The Big Bang Theory" Season 9 Episode 9, which is appropriately entitled, "The Separation Oscillation," is going to feature the aftermath of the breakup that happened last Monday night.
This week, viewers will see Leonard finally mustering his courage and confronting the woman he kissed while he was on his North Sea trip. Leonard is apparently trying to win back Penny by putting her mind at ease with what happened between him and mystery woman named Many, who according to TVLine, is going to be played by actress Melissa Tang.
Showrunner Steve Molaro previously revealed to ABC News that though Penny was playing with the thought that she's fine with Leonard kissing another woman, she is still questioning whether she and Leonard should move forward as a couple or not.
In the wake of the onscreen breakup between Penny and Leonard, actress Kaley Cuoco and real-life husband Ryan Sweeting have called it quits.
In a statement to People, the couple's rep said, "Kaley Cuoco and Ryan Sweeting have mutually decided to end their marriage. They ask for privacy at this time. No further statement will be issued regarding this matter."
The 28-year-old tennis player and the 29-year-old actress have decided to call it quits less than two years after they exchanged their wedding vows.
However, not everyone is sad over the split. "Big Bang Theory" fans reportedly took to social media to urge once real-life couple and onscreen lovers Cuoco and Galecki to rekindle their romance.
International Business Times reported that a day after the breakup announcement, many took to Twitter to voice out that Cuoco and Galecki should be together now that Kaley and Ryan are divorcing.
Both actors have yet to comment on the reaction of their fans, but this Monday night, in "Big Bang Theory" Season 2, we will hopefully see Penny and Leonard patch things up.
After all, Molaro dished that when Leonard finally grabs the opportunity to speak with Mandy, "things will start to get better, not necessarily because of that, but Leonard and Penny are both invested in figuring out how to fix this."
