Is "Love & Hip Hop Atlanta" star Momma Dee (Deborah Gaither in real life) broke? She reportedly ate at a restaurant on Saturday and fled the area after satisfying her palate without even paying for the meal. And the consequence? She got arrested.
According to Us Weekly, the "LHHA" star was in Milwaukee, Wis. on Saturday night enjoying dinner with her friends to celebrate her birthday.
However, when the bill of $500 came, the VH1 star reportedly left the restaurant without paying for what she and her friends ate there.
A little later, Lil Scrappy's mother was arrested by authorities and she was placed inside the jail for a couple of hours over charges of "fraud on inn keeper nonpayment."
It was only after the "Love & Hip Hop Atlanta" star managed to pay the bail of $250 that she was released from prison, as per Fox6Now.
The media even found Momma Dee's mugshot, and what's striking about her prison photo is the smile she has on her face.
After news about her arrest surfaced, Momma Dee came forward to TMZ to clarify what really happened.
In her statement to the celebrity news and gossip site, she said that it was just a miscommunication since her friends left while she was in the bathroom.
The reality star went on to explain that upon returning from the bathroom, the managers of the restaurant, along with a few cops, came to her claiming that she dined and ditched the bill.
Momma Dee also revealed that the dinner was not really her birthday celebration, so she insisted that she only pay for the meal she ate. When she refused to pay the entire amount, she was then arrested.
