The Adidas Yeezy 350 is arguably one of the most iconic pair of sneakers today, but according to its creator Kanye West, it's not iconic enough.
As reported by Kicks On Fire, Kanye West's goal is to make the Adidas Yeezy 350 Boost as iconic and timeless as the Nike Air Force 1.
Kanye said in an interview, "But I'm sitting there and I'm looking at the 350s and i'm thinking about the Submariner Rolex or thinking about the Eames chair. It's like how do you take this thing to a place where it's just the classic shoe? I feel like the Air Force Pne or the Shell Toe speak to the ultimate version of what sneakers were 20 years ago."
He further added. "And I think there's something about the (Adidas Yeezy) 350s that feeling of what sneakers are today. And I just want to keep going in there and working on the shape and the last and the way the knit feels, the padding, the colors, to hopefully make that shoe where 20 years from now people say the 350 represented what shoes were in 2016. And we're doing the same thing for the 950s and the 750s."
The Nike Air Force 1 is one of the most popular and best-selling sneakers silhouette by Nike and its influence is ever growing.
Created by Bruce Kilgore and released way back 1982, the Nike Air Force 1 has been the blank canvas of other sneaker designers and has been immortalized in various songs. This is what Kanye intends with his Adidas Yeezy line.
As reported by High Snobiety, Kanye even teased a new colorway for the Yeezy 350s at his New York Fashion Week show.
Despite the Adidas Yeezy 350s' minimalist beauty, some are just not content with its looks, as Complex has learned.
As reported, a customer of a famous sneaker customizer recently ordered that his pair of Yeezy 350s be slapped with a Nike Swoosh. And not just an ordinary Swoosh; it's made with a 3M reflective material.
Sneaker customizing is not a new thing but it seems that this is the first time an Adidas pair was attached with a Nike logo.
