Spider In Woman's Ear — It's Not Charlotte's Web! It's A Nightmare

A spider in your ear is probably one of your worst nightmares. But imagine that turning into reality, just like the case of a Chinese woman who found out that she has a one in her ear.

A woman named Li Meng complained about scratching noises that she could only hear, Fox 32 has reported. At first, Meng was hesitant to seek medical help as she was afraid that those "scratching noises" may be the work of an evil spirit. She even said, "I even went to a temple to pray but it didn't help," according to News.

In a similar report by the Daily Mail, the 25-year old woman said that she went hiking with her boyfriend several days ago and then spotted a fruit-laden tree behind a cemetery. Afterwards, she decided to pick a fruit and according to reports, she may have trampled a grave while doing so.

She then went home and the scratching noises caused her disturbance and pain for days.

However, when the pain became too unbearable, the woman was forced to seek help at the Xiamen Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine. An ear, nose and throat specialist now discovered that a spider has been living in her ear and even wove some web in her ear canal.

The spider was resting on her eardrum and every time the doctors attempt to remove the insect, it reacts violently that causes more pain to the patient.

Meng's doctors then decided to use some medical ear drops to help subdue the disturbed spider and eventually remove it. According to Chen Zhaoyue, one of the doctors who performed the procedure, getting an insect inside your ear is not unusual.

However, doctors cautioned that you must not attempt to remove the insect yourself, as it may get stuck further into your ear canal.
