Diana Ross is currently making headlines after alleged pregnancy rumors widely circulated online. The 71-year-old "Ain't No Mountain High Enough" singer unintentionally brought the online realm to life after an Instagram photo showing her apparent baby bump went viral on Tuesday.
Diana Ross' pregnancy rumors started when she was leaving an organic grocery store in Los Angeles and a paparazzi photographed her, The Boom Box reported. The "I'm Coming Out" songstress was casually dressed in an all-black cardigan with matching T-shirt and leggings. And though she was rumored to be sporting a baby bump, perhaps due to some gained weight, she was still all smiles.
Since Diana Ross' pregnancy rumors went viral on social media, several netizens expressed their reactions regarding the singer's baby bump photo as seen in on the website Rickey. While some were quick to body shame Ross, other defended her.
"Y'all are wrong for the shady tweets about Diana Ross. She's 71. Women can't be skinny forever," one fan wrote, while another commented, "Diana Ross looks like she got back together with the Supremes. Taco Supremes."
In spite of the viral social media-originated pregnant rumor, Diana Ross is not pregnant. According to Gossip Cop, the speculation was absolutely untrue. The celebrity news site also emphasized that the "Endless Love" hitmaker is not prego. Instead, she was just a victim of an unflattering photo.
"Despite the pregnancy theories, Ross is not with child, but rather just a victim of an unflattering photo that accentuates her weight gain," the celeb website wrote.
The site also added that if Diana Ross' pregnancy rumor was true, she could have been named as the world's oldest pregnant woman. However, the true record holder is an Indian woman named Rajo Devi Lohan, who conceived a child at 70.
Meanwhile, Diana Ross will likely be hitting the gym very soon as she prepares for her second residency in Las Vegas in November. The "Upside Down" diva is returning to the Venetian Hotel for a nine-show stint as part of the "Essential Diana Ross: Some Memories Never Fade" series.
"I love to sing and perform and every show feels like a celebration," she told the Las Vegas Review-Journal back in March. "Just like a brand new day or a brand new moment and it's all about the music and those private and personal memories."
