“How To Get Away With Murder” showrunner Pete Nowalk told TV Guide that he intended to unfold Bonnie and Annalise’s complicated relationship by way of Rebecca’s murder. He disclosed that viewers will discover more about their relationship during the first half of Season 2. So, we’re going to look forward to see how Bonnie and Annalise met and learn more about their backstories. "She takes so much crap from Annalise yet she sticks by her. Why? We'll answer that," Nowalk continued.

Another thing that kept fans on their toes for "How To Get Away With Murder" Season 2 Episode 2 was the mysterious person behind Annalise’s shooting inside the Hapstall mansion. It’s a puzzle who among Annalise’s Keating Five or associates wants her dead. Perhaps Wes, who at the moment has a tumultuous relationship with Annalise or Bonnie whose secrets were all known by Viola Davis’ character, or maybe Connor who was also at the mansion at the time Annalise was shot.
Nevertheless, Pete Nowalk said, “I do feel like I know. Last year, with who killed Sam, I was a little bit more up in the air. This time, I pretty much know who shot Annalise,” as per Entertainment Weekly.
Meanwhile, TV Line revealed “The Fosters” actress Sherri Saum is joining “How To Get Away With Murder” Season 2. However, a rep from the show declined to give out specifics about the character she’ll be portraying.
