Tinder is helping you say goodbye to lonely nights as it now offers an option to "Super Like" the person you fancy.
Tinder, a dating/hook-up application, has made online dating easier in recent years. The app presents a selection of people based on your personal preferences; that allows you to swipe right if you want to pass or swipe left if you'd like to date them.
"Tinder is known for being fun to use, but at heart we're about forging real connections between people," said Sean Rad, CEO of Tinder.
But according to a report by Quartz, Tinder now allows you to swipe up to indicate that you, "Super Like" the person. This new feature, which is about to be released worldwide, will now let users express their higher level of interest, therefore narrowing down your selection.
As noted by Forbes, users of the dating app is allowed to swipe-up once per day and those who are using Tinder Plus, will get to do that five times a day. And if you "Super Liked" another user in the app, a blue star will appear on your profile when the person stumbles upon it, letting them know that you "Super Liked" them.
In a related report by WDBJ 7, to insure that your "Super Like" isn't wasted, apart from the blue star, you would also pop on top of that person's potential matches.
Apart from de-cluttering your dating choices, the "Super Like" option by Tinder was also reported to combat the rise of other dating applications such as Bumble and Hinge.
However, there's a drawback to this. Tinder's new feature may make you appear a little too eager that may potentially ward-off your preferred date.
And according to Psychology researchers Eileen Chu and Stefano Verrelli, "While Tinder's Super Like was designed to help users avoid beating around the bush, according to the science, it may actually be better to hold back and appear more aloof."
Here's hoping that you think hard before swiping up.
