The animated series "Guardians of The Galaxy" premiered its first 2 episodes last week and they are nothing short of phenomenal.
Based on the successful movie of the same name, the "Guardians of The Galaxy Animated Series" takes off where the first film ended.
When the "Guardians" movie ended, the team found out that Peter Quill/Starlord is not really 100 percent human. That discovery was the reason he endured the power of the Infinity Stone.
The animated series then connects itself from the movie by highlighting on that knowledge regarding the hero. But apart from that, it's not going to be connected to the already established Marvel Cinematic Universe franchise.
As reported by Geek Dad, certain characters not yet introduced into the Cinematic Universe will be featured in the series.
In addition, "Guardians of The Galaxy" the animated series also aims to capture the movie's quirky humor and feel-good music, IGN has learned.
According to Eric Radomski, Senior VP of Animation and Development at Marvel: "It respects the success of the movie, but also has its own personality and storyline."
The animated series can be the next best thing while fans are waiting for the "Guardians of The Galaxy: Vol. 2"
Comic Book reported that the series is already done with 2 episodes, leaving fans hooked, with "Knowhere To Run" and "Road To Knowhere" viewed a million times combined.
The third episode called "One in A Million You" aired this weekend amid fans' excitement and anticipation on what's going to happen next.
The series also boasts an amazing cast of voice actors giving life to the characters. Among the voice actors are Will Friedle of "Boy Meets World" fame as Peter Quill/Star Lord, Treval Devall from "Johnny Test" as Rocket Racoon and Vanessa Marshal of "Star Wars Rebels" as Gamora .
David Sobolov, who already portrayed Drax The Destroyer in other Marvel series, was reported to be voicing him once again. Lastly, Kevin Michael Richardson known for "Fairy Odd Parents" and "The Cleveland Show" will voice Groot.
Speaking of the casts, Radomski said "I think [fans] are going to be pretty pleased with what we've done. We're confident this deep into the production that the show holds up and the storytelling is pretty solid and especially the ensemble cast, they just really brought the characters into the animated world without doing a direct lift or interpretation of the voices. They really capture the personality in all of their performances."
