The Simpsons are going to have pretty interesting guests in their show's upcoming episode.
Variety reported that Academy award-nominee Edward James Olmos is coming to the show. In addition, he will be joined by comedian Bobby Moynihan and "Food Eats" host Alton Brown.
In the latest episode of "The Simpsons," Olmos will reportedly play a pit master who sells Homer Simpson a "magic smoker" that's "never been cooled down, never been cleaned - mixing meat, fat and smoke into pure magic."
This episode will see Homer get challenged to a barbecue contest against super chef Scotty Boom, which will be voiced by series regular Hank Azaria.
However, things go awry when Homer finds out that his "magic smoker" was stolen, and it's up to Bart and Lisa to help their dad find his secret weapon for the competition.
As for Moynihan, he will play Scotty's lonely son, Tyler Boom. Interestingly, this is not the first time he played a culinary character. If fans may recall, the comedian is known for impersonating celebrity chef Guy Fieri.
Regarding his character, the funny man said that this is "the Italian version of Guy Fieri." He further added, "Being a part of the legacy of 'The Simpsons' is insane - I remember watching them on 'Tracey Ullman,' I remember spending my allowance on a drawing that Matt Groening had done on a piece of paper."
In a related report by Eater, Alton Brown will portray a fictionalized version of himself, who according to speculations, will serve as the judge for Homer and Scotty Boom's smoke off.
As noted by Delish, this will be the second time "The Simpsons" is featuring TV food personalities as back in 2011, Anthony Bourdain. Gordon Ramsey and Mario Batali made appearances on the show.
