Jim Carrey's ex-girlfriend Cathriona White, who was found dead last week, was also discovered to be married during her relationship with the comedian.
According to US Weekly, the Los Angeles Medical Examiner's office confirmed that White was indeed married when she died of suspected suicide.
As said by Ed Winters of the Medical Examiner's office, "She had a husband and they were separated, he is the legal next of kin."
However, a source related to Jim Carrey said that the actor, though aware of the marriage, said that "as far as Jim was concerned, Cathriona was separated,"
The source further added, "She was going to start divorce proceedings in December. There is no way that Jim Carrey would have taken her out to public places if he thought she was married."
In a related report by the Los Angeles Times, though it was said that "The Grinch" star and White had separated, Carrey said that they were only taking a "breather" at the time and had not really split in the days leading to her apparent suicide.
It was reported that just a little over a week before White was found dead, the couple had a romantic dinner date in Malibu. In addition, Entertainment Tonight even have photos of them cozying outdoors at a waterfront restaurant.
When the 30-year old's body was found, the coroner said that they found four prescription medication bottles nearby. The three were identified as Ambien, Percocet and Propranolol, which were reportedly prescribed to Carrey's alias.
There are reports saying that the fourth medication was identified to be Zofran, all four were not prescribed in White's name.
Regarding her death, her family said in a statement: "Cathriona was a shining light in our lives who was loved deeply by her entire family." They further added, "We will miss her terribly and at this difficult time we ask to be left in private to mourn our loss."
