Kevin Durant has a brewing feud with Stephen A. Smith after he slammed the ESPN personality about the comments regarding his incoming free agency.
According to Yahoo! Sports, just last week, the 27-year old former MVP responded to rumors that the Los Angeles Lakers are his "primary objective and landing spot" if ever he chose not to resign with his current team.
Durant said regarding Smith that he never talked to him and was even noted to have said that the commentator was "lying" and "making up stories."
Smith, one of the most outspoken sports analysts right now, offered a response on Twitter and said that he never said that he spoke to Durant, any members of his family or any of his teammates about the player's free agency.
The broadcaster said that he'd "heard from folks I know" that "the cities" Durant would consider if he chose to leave OKC were Los Angeles, Miami, Washington, D.C., and New York, and it was both false and "totally uncalled for" to say that he was lying.
He further added on a tweet that "It just appears that @KDTrey5 needs to learn something about today's world in professional sports: We don't have to talk TO HIM to talk ABOUT HIM!"
In a related report by SB Nation, Smith even threatened Durant during a broadcast of ESPN "First Take" and said that "You do NOT want to make an enemy out of me."
As reported by Sports Illustrated, on "First Take," Smith said that "Kevin Durant is the one that's lying" as he had interviewed the Thunders star countless of times.
Regarding his supposed threat to Durant, he said: "Kevin Durant is a good dude. His family is wonderful. He's wonderful. There's nothing negative that I have to say about this person as a human being. I am addressing what he said about me. I am not attacking Kevin Durant."
He then took to Twitter to further defend his comments and said he would further discuss it on his radio show.
