"Team Fortress 2's" long awaited update just arrived and it's going to be invaded by Aliens and UFOs. The newest update named "Invasion" is the latest addition to the game franchise.
As reported by Kotaku, "Team Fortress 2: Invasion" has been in the works for over a year, with Valve and members of the community dropping hints about the development of the game. Fortunately, after a year of waiting, the game's update was proven to be fun and even game-changing.
"Team Fortress 2: Invasion" includes four community-made maps which are, 2Fort Invasion, Probed, Byre and Watergate.
In a report by PC Gamer, the Watergate map will introduce the user to a new "Player Destruction" mode, in which both teams have to collect beer from dead players and deliver it to a UFO in the middle of the map.
In addition to the maps, the players will also receive new high-tech weapon skins like the "Batsaber" and the "Shooting Star."
However, to receive those weapon skins, you have to unlock the new "Invasion" cases through the use of a special key, which you need to purchase. Apart from that, to even get those cases, you will also be required to buy the "Invasion Community Update Pass" that costs $2.
The pass entitles the user to an "Invasion Community Update Coin" that tracks your stats during the event and allows you to earn "Invasion Case" drops through the end of the year.
According to Game Spot, all the contents in this update are community-madee and all proceeds from the purchases will of course, go through the community members who made the update.
However, some fans of the game are complaining that this particular update to "Team Fotress 2" could have been more special.
But as reported, this is a community-made content and not an official Valve creation, so don't expect it to be grand.
