Real Madrid sensation Cristiano Ronaldo proved once again why he is the most relevant player in football. On Tuesday, the good looking athlete made another record when he received his fourth Golden Boot Award for being all of Europe’s domestic leagues leading goalscorer in the previous season.
Cristiano Ronaldo claimed his third Golden Boot Award while playing for Real Madrid in 35 Spanish League games scoring 48 goals. The other Golden Boot came with Manchester United in 2007-08.
The 30-year-old surpassed Raul Gonzalez’s previous record when he achieved 324 goals to become Madrid’s all-time leading scorer last Sept. 30, as per FOX Sports.
Cristiano Ronaldo acknowledged his team-mates stating that they’re part of his achievement of the individual awards. He said, “This is another great moment in my career. Receiving the fourth Golden Shoe is a great honour and a privilege.”
“I always want to win more. I want five, six or seven Golden Shoes if possible. Real Madrid are the biggest club in the world and we always have to win titles.”
“I want the Champions League, La Liga and the Copa del Rey,” the Real Madrid star continued.
Daily Mail reported Florentino Perez, Real Madrid’s president praised Ronaldo for creating football history. Perez exclaimed, “Cristiano Ronaldo is the only player in history to win the Golden Boot four times. It is an honor to have him at our club.”
“Thank you Cristiano Ronaldo, on behalf of all Madridistas, for all you have given us and for all you will give us.”
The football sensation was accompanied to the gala event by his son, Cristiano Jr., mother Dolores Aveiro, brother Hugo, the Portuguese ambassador to Spain, Madrid coach Rafa Benitez and club president Florentino Perez.
