Is there trouble in paradise between Nina Dobrev’s ex Ian Somerhalder and his wife Nikki Reed? The actor and conservationist couple is reportedly frequently fighting over their plan to have babies.
According to OK! magazine, just months into their marriage, the "Vampire Diaries" actor and the "Twilight" actress are already facing family problems since they have disparate opinions on when they should have a baby.
The entertainment and gossip publication, Somerhalder has been pressuring Reed to start a family with him ever since they moved into their $2.9 million worth Los Angeles home.
However, Nikki seems to be not one to easily cave in to Ian's request since she feels she's just not ready to have kids yet. Reed is said to be focused on expanding her acting career and volunteer work before anything else.
An insider said, "She wants to focus on her work for animal rights causes. Ian supports her, but he thinks it's the right time for a baby."
The difference on their current plans as husband and wife is rumored to have caused a strain on their marriage, with some seeing this as a step to a more serious problem.
"Nikki is ambitious and worries about derailing her career if she gets pregnant now," Starpulse quoted a source as saying. "Since Ian really wants to have children, this could easily become a more serious problem, especially if Nikki keeps putting it off."
The same site noted that the same problem led Somerhalder to break up with Dobrev in the past. The ex "TVD" star reportedly wanted to enjoys her twenties and did not agree to tie the knot and have babies with Somerhalder at the time.
Both Somerhalder and Reed have yet to address the rumors about their marital woes.
Meanwhile, Reed revealed to Elle this week that her husband's mother apparently stole one of her recycled plastic handbags.
Talking about the day Somerhalder's mom took the bag, she said that she quickly asked designer Morgan Bogle about it. She asked, "My mother-in-law just stole our bag sample. Is that okay?"
The incident was not at all anything serious since it added more confidence to Reed when it comes to her products. She even said that the "belt" bag is "classic rock," adding that "it really transcends generations."
