For McDonald’s patrons who love the fast food chain’s breakfast meals, the launching of the all-day breakfast is a dream come true. On the contrary, for franchisees, it’s been nothing but a nightmare they want to escape from.
As surprising as it sounds, McDonald's franchisees are not enjoying the all-day breakfast promo of the chain as it is reportedly the root cause of their slowed down services and moving force of chaos in their kitchens, as per Slate.com.
Apparently, franchisees are not pleased with how the all-day breakfast is doing to their system, and they voiced this out in a recent survey on how the promo is doing.
"In small stores, the problems are vast with people falling over each other and equipment jammed in everywhere," one franchisee noted in the survey.
Another franchisee revealed: "Customers are abandoning us in droves because we are either too slow, or sub-par quality."
The survey was conduced by analyst Mark Kalinowski, who works for Japanese finance firm Nomura. He surveyed 29 franchisees in different locations in the country, according to New York Post.
The all-day breakfast offer rolled out last Tuesday, and Kalinowski immediately found out that franchisees have been pulling their hair out because of this setup.
"All-day breakfast is a non-starter. We are trading customers down from regular menu to lower-priced breakfast items. Not generating new traffic," a franchisee expressed in the survey.
While its easy to see that McDonald's franchisees are not pleased with the all-day breakfast offer, customers are reportedly pleased that they can now enjoy their favorite breakfast meals all day long, Examiner reported.
Despite the good reception of customers who are enjoying the fact that they can order breakfast meals even at night, there is still another issue that posts a challenge to franchisees, and it is revenue. Since the breakfast items are cheaper, customers spend less everytime they drop by McDonald's.
