Halloween decorations are getting popular right now because of the upcoming spooky holiday. However, there are instances that violent criminals take advantage of it in the most gruesome way.
During the Halloween season, it's not uncommon for people to hang dummies to be mistaken for distressed humans that results into 911 calls. But sadly, in Chillicothe, Ohio, a murdered woman was found hanging on a chain-link fence Tuesday morning and was thought to be simply a Halloween decoration.
As reported by Up North Live, around 8:30 am, construction workers in Chillicothe called the police when they realized that the Halloween decoration was actually a dead body.
In a related report by USA Today, the dead woman's body looked like a gruesome and spooky prank. The woman was identified to be Rebecca J. Cade, 31 years old.
Cade's body was found by a man walking his dog, and it was hanging by her shirt sleeve from the fence near an American Electric Power construction site Tuesday morning.
As for the official cause of her death, officials have ruled it to be blunt force trauma to the head and neck. In addition, the police also said that "defensive wounds" were found on Cade's arms. Furthermore, the police said that a "large rock the size of an orange or grapefruit" was found at the scene with blood on it and said it could be the murder weapon.
According to Fox 59, the incident regarding the woman's death is that she was apparently in a fight when she decided to ran from her attacker and got into a lot surrounded by a fence and got stuck.
The police are currently suspecting 27-year-old Donnie Cochenour Jr who is held on a $2 million bond after he pleaded not guilty to a charge of murder, regarding Cade's death.
As for Cade's loved ones, they were quoted as saying, "She was always running the streets and always doing drugs but she had people who loved her. I hope she knew that."
