After the shocking incident wherein Lamar Odom was found unresponsive at a Nevada brothel, Khloe Kardashian's estranged husband has finally woken up from a coma after his drug overdose.
On Tuesday, Lamar Odom made headlines after he was found unresponsive at the Love Ranch. He was hospitalized for drug overdose and was hooked up to a ventilator as his condition was deemed critical. In three days at the brothel, CNN revealed that Odom spent $75,000 for two women to take care of his needs. On his first day, he reportedly used cocaine and was seen taking 10 herbal supplements. He was then found by the brothel employees lying in bed on his side with pinkish fluid coming from his mouth and nose.
Currently, Khloe Kardashian's ex is on the road to recovery and is able to communicate. On Friday, E! News reported that he has finally opened his eyes and greeted Kardashian, who has been by his side since he was hospitalized with "Hey, baby." However, it remains unclear if how long did Odom stay awake and conscious.
"He's awake now," Odom's college coach Jim Harrick said. "So that's probably the most encouraging news we've had since it all started."
Moreover, sources said that Lamar Odom is no longer using a breathing tube and is already speaking and functioning. At the hospital, he was surrounded with family and friends including Khloe Kardashian and her mom Kris Jenner as well as several of her sisters, Odom's dad and his two children, who came with their mother.
Lamar Odom, who had been a beloved member of the Los Angeles Lakers as Washington Post noted, was also visited by his fellow basketball players including his Lakers teammate Kobe Bryant during his confinement at the Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.
"Hopefully he gets well, hopefully he pulls out of this thing, and get the support that he really needs," Metta World Peace said on Thursday.
Prior to his recent downward spiral, including his pro-basketball retirement, a pending divorce with Khloe Kardashian and DUI arrest, Lamar Odom enjoyed being an adored L.A. Lakers player and a famous reality star.
