Is TLC’s “Sister Wives” turning into a show that’s centered only on Robyn and Kody Brown — “The Robyn & Kody Show?” This may be the case since the current season has been focusing mostly on the expectant mom and the polygamous dad. However, fans are not taking this issue lightly.
"Sister Wives" is TLC's reality series that follows the lives of polygamy practicing man Kody Brown and his four wives, Meri, Janelle, Christine and Robyn. While this is the very essence of the show, it's very evident in the current season that Robyn is getting all the time and attention not only of Kody, but also of the reality show.
Episode after episode, fans notice how the show's giving more attention to Robyn and Kody, neglecting and leaving the other wives in the circle. Obviously, they are there each episode, but they only get limited screen time. Add to that the publicity that's mostly about her and her upcoming baby with Kody.
On Sunday, the series featured Christine and Kody's therapy session in which the former finally opened up about her frustrations with their relationship and compared it to what Kody and Robyn shares.
Previously, it was Janelle Brown who decided to go back deal with her weight issue. Then, there's the "catfish" issue that first wife Meri Brown faced amid her sadness following her divorce with Kody to give way to his legal wedding with Robyn. The latest is TLC's poll about Kody and Robyn's upcoming baby's gender.
Given all these, it does not come as a surprise that many fans of "Sister Wives" are thinking that the attention that Robyn's been receiving is too much if not over the top.
Many fans took to the show's Facebook page to slam the direction where the series is taking. Fan Christine Willow wrote: "I thought the show was called sister wives not the Kody & Robyn show."
Another concerned viewer, Irma Nelums, noted: "The Browns are constantly saying the Family. What Family? It's always Robyn and Kody and Meri here and there. What happened to Janelle and Christine? The "Sister Wives" They should've been included when telling Meri. Robyn is pregnant. Janelle and Christine were told when the kids were told. They are not kids they are wives Robyn wonders why not everybody likes her."
Alicia Reed also expressed a similar point when she wrote: "Don't care! This has turned into the Robyn and Cody show. Makes me sick. Can't stand Robyn. She will stop at nothing to be the ONLY wife."
On the other hand, Barbara Nasella Todd exclaimed: "How has this show become all about Robyn?? I am sick to death of her. Meri is at the doctors and Kody is nowhere in sight! What is up with that? Who cares if it is a boy or girl, just one more thing to keep her in the limelight. How does she ever get anything done in her life with all the drama, chaos and CRYING??!!!!"
Todd's post about Meri seeing a doctor pertains to the cancer scare Kody's first wife talked about in last night's episode. In an interview with People, Meri revealed that she lost weight amid her persistent stomach pain.
"Within about a 6 week period I dropped 30 pounds, just really fast. Of course I'm not going to complain about that, but it does tell me something's wrong," the "Sister Wives" star was quoted as saying by the entertainment site.
In the episode it was revealed that Meri's doctor gave her the bad news about her thickening cervix which could be "cervical carcinoma" or cervical cancer.
Also in the episode, Robyn's pregnancy was finally revealed to the family, and it was Meri who announced the news. Everyone appeared to be very excited.
International Business Times even quoted Robyn as saying,
"When everyone cheered and was excited and happy -- It was just... *sighs*"
