“Dancing With The Stars” Season 21 frontrunners Bindi Irwin and Derek Hough exude charisma, charm and chemistry that are just too difficult to not notice. It’s like they are made to be each other’s dancing partners that some are wondering if they are really hooking up outside of ABC’s reality ballroom dancing competition.
Because of their chemistry and the fact that they spend a lot of time together since Steve Irwin's daughter joined the show, fans have been wanting for the Bindi and Derek to date. However, the 17-year-old is not actually available at the moment since she is romancing professional wake-boarder Chandler Powell.
Nevertheless, this did not stop CelebDirtyLaundry from releasing a story claiming that Irwin and Powell are heading to splitsville because the "DWTS" Season 21 star has found a good friend in Derek.
The gossip site insisted that it's not impossible for Bindi and 30-year-old Derek to end up dating since Irwin's romance with Powell is still relatively new and "fragile."
An insider even told the site that Chandler is starting to realize that his girlfriend has become closer to Derek than to him, fuelling his insecurities on their relationship.
"I wouldn't say that Chandler thinks Bindi is cheating on him just yet. But, it is definitely starting to get under his skin that Derek and Bindi are obviously way closer than he is to her," the insider was quoted as saying. "He thought their relationship was solid, but now he realizes that Bindi wasn't opening up to him and really being herself like she is with Derek. His insecurities are starting to create a strain on their relationship."
Amid these rumors however, Bindi Irwin appears to remain faithful to her boyfriend, who has been nothing but very supportive to her ballroom dancing gig. Just last Wednesday, the young "Dancing With The Stars" contestant took to Twitter to share a cute snap of her and Chandler and captioned it with a heartwarming message about the happiness she shares with her lover.
She wrote: "I can't wait to have you back in The City of Angels with me. #HappinessLooksLikeThis." Her posts came weeks after Chandler paid a visit to her, and at the time, Bindi took to Instagram to share how happy she was that her boyfriend was there to "ice my foot when it hurts, making me tea and hugging me when I'm tired."
Meanwhile, after last week's switch-up, Bindi and Hough are reuniting for this Monday night's "Dancing With the Stars" to recreate the iconic "Dirty Dancing" routine for "(I've Had) The Time of My Life."
E! News has learned that aside from their performance and the iconic lift they are about to showcase on the dance floor, fans should also watch out for Bindi's Daniela Gschwendtner-designed dress, which was specially made for the lift part.
