Huawei knows that in order for it to make it big in the smartphone market, it needs to have continuity when it comes to its releases. Thus, after introducing to the world the Google Nexus 6P, it is now preoccupied with perfecting its upcoming phablet, the Huawei Mate 8.
Huawei is currently the third largest smartphone vendor according to UberGizmo, but it will stop at nothing to emerge the most triumphant tech company as soon as possible. With this ambition comes the ShenZhen, Guangdong-headquartered company's plan to continuously create smartphones and phablets that will get strong reception from the market. Well, the Huawei Mate 8 might be doing that for the company now since it's getting a lot of media attention.
The Huawei Mate 8 sports a 6-inch 1440p display, a large screen estate for people who prefer the monster-sized smartphones as their daily driver.
In the recent weeks, several reports have been surfacing about the new Huawei phablet alongside pictures of what the device would look like when it officially lands the market late November or early December.
The handset is a powerhouse - one that can easily go head-to-head with Apple's iPhone 6S Plus and Samsung's Galaxy Note 5 - given its Kirin 950 chip, which is an in-house made chip that integrates four Cortex-A72 cores clocked at 2.4GHz and four ARM Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 2.0GHz, PhoneArena has learned.
The large handset seems to be very remarkable and powerful since a leaked Geekbench result revealed that the Kirin 950 chip is more powerful and faster than the Exynos 7420 that's found in Samsung's flagship devices like the Galaxy Note 5, the Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S6 Edge+. It also even better than tha Qualcomm Snapdragon 810.
The Huawei Mate 8 is also build to impress with its ARM Mali-T880 GPU, an i7 coprocessor and even a Tensilica Hi-Fi 4 audio chip. As per GSM Arena, consumers can expect the device to come with 3GB or 4GB RAM variants and a decent 32GB or 64GB of internal storage.
The difference in RAM size is also a determinant in the pricing of the device which is surprisingly more affordable than its rivals. The 3GB RAM variant shells for $520, while the 4GB RAM variant has a $610 price tag.
