The NBA preseason is almost done while the actual season is incoming, plenty of rumors are now surrounding the league.
According to Sports Illustrated, the Cleveland Cavaliers forward Tristan Thompson is now seeing his risky move blow up to his face as the young forward, seemed to have overestimated his leverage when he demanded the Cavs to give him a $94 million max contract.
But it did not go well for him as the Cavs decided not to give in to his and his agent's demands and is now left on a contract holdout. Reports are also saying that situations where Thompson would come out as a winner is pretty much none.
As for Dallas Mavericks, its prized point guard Deron Williams has suffered a strained calf and there's yet an announcement regarding the timetable of his return, nixing the idea of him suiting up for the preseason.
Head coach Rick Carlisle said, "He's doing better, but he will not play in the exhibition games," and added, "We'll see if we can get him ready for the opener. It's been a frustrating thing for him, but we're making progress. We'll get there. I just don't have a timetable."
In a similar report by Basketball Insiders, the Chicago Bulls are being projected to explore their luck on player trades. Specifically, the team may be considering trading Taj Gibson since the team already has Bobby Portis, who is impressing analysts with his good game.
As reported by ESPN, defending champions Golden State Warriors has one week to set their roster for the start of the 2015-2016 season. As for the players who will make the final roster cut, it seems that Ian Clark will get a slot since interim coach Luke Walton said, "He's been great for us, he was great all through training camp, too. He can score the ball, which is what we like."
Walton added, "He competes on defense, which is another thing we look at. It's too early to say (regarding his status), but he's done everything he can do as far as impressing us and the front office. He's put himself in a good position."
