“Underworld 5" cast update surely made fans of Theo James all over the world deliriously happy.
Yes, good news people! Theo James will reprise his role as the vampire David, alongside lead star Kate Beckinsale’s Selene in the latest installment of the Lycan and Vampire movie, “Underworld 5.”
Sony has just announced that production for “Underworld 5” is underway and that filming for the scheduled ten-week shoot has began at Prague and its nearby areas. Along with that, the studio also revealed that familiar faces such as Kate Beckinsale, Charles Dance and Theo James will be back in the fifth installment of the “Underworld” franchise, as per Slash Film.
Kate Beckinsale who has been portraying the vampire Selene since 2003 was rumored to be passing on the torch to Theo James, whose character, David, first appeared in “Underworld: Awakening” in 2012. The British actor who’s way more popular now thanks to his role as Four in the “Divergent” franchise was widely assumed to lead “a new and younger generation of vampires and werewolves who are locked in a seemingly never-ending battle between supernatural races.”
Although Sony’s announcement does not mention whether “Underworld 5” will be the last time Selene will fight Lycans, it perfectly plays up Theo James’s involvement in the franchise. He would be a good choice since he has amassed a ton of followers who will support him in his role as David. He’s also had his fair share of action scenes alongside co-star Shailene Woodley in “Divergent.” Besides, the final two movies, “Allegiant” and “Ascendant” will draw to a close this coming 2017.
Nevertheless, while that exciting news has yet to be confirmed, another actor who will reprise his role as the Vampire Elder Thomas, David’s father, is Charles Dance. He’s now more recognizable as Tywin Lannister from HBO’s “Game of Thrones.”
Comingsoon.net has learned newcomers to grace “Underworld 5” are British actors Tobias Menzies (“Rome” and “Outlander”) and Lara Pulver (“Sherlock”) who will tackle on the roles of a menacing new Lycan leader and a ferociously ambitious Vampire respectively. James Faulkner (“Game of Thrones”), newbie Clementine Nicholson, Bradley James (“Damien”), Peter Andersson (“The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo”) and Daisy Head (“Fallen”) are also in the cast.
Furthermore, Anne Foerster will helm “Underworld 5.” Cary Goodman penned the screenplay based on characters created originally by Len Wiseman, Kevin Grevioux and Danny McBride, as per Comicbook.
