"Arrow" is popular and it's just getting bigger and bigger. How big? About John Constantine-big because apparently, reports are saying that the demon-busting hero is going face to face with Oliver Queen.
According to Entertainment Online, fans of the recently cancelled series "Constantine" can now rejoice because recently, it was announced that the character would be once again donning his signature trench coat and dropping by at "Arrow" to help the team deal with a rather mystical situation — restoring the soul of the newly resurrected Sara Lance.
Matt Ryan, who plays the titular character on the short-lived NBC show, does not miss a beat in this week's episode, reprising his beloved role as the famed demon hunter.
Stephen Amell, who fans may know as the guy playing Oliver Queen, recently opened up while on the set on the show and said, "We've weaved in Matt very nicely and the Constantine character in very nicely." He then added that he adding Ryan will do wonders for the show.
Furthermore, he said that he thinks that keeping within the framework of "Arrow," they would contribute things that would make John Constantine an even more fun as a character.
Just a little bit of spoiler, according to Coming Soon, Constantine has a warning for arrow-toting superhero.
"Arrow's" executive producer Wendy Mericle said that they have tried to stay true to the show and told that they want to honor his voice, the way his character is portrayed and how he was defined on his recently cancelled show.
Fans of both shows now have an amazing chance to witness how these two heroes from the DC universe interact, and apparently, the history between the two goes deep, like very deep.
Case in point, where and when Oliver Queen first comes across with the mystical hero will make long-time "Arrow" fans see themselves in familiar territory.
Mericle elaborated that the show encounters a situation where Sara is going to come out of the magical Lazarus Pit, which will have scary repercussions. What better way to deal with those said problems than weaving John Constantine into the fold!
In a similar report by International Business Times, it seems that the show's latest season is slowly ditching science and technology related stuff in favor of monsters and magic — this seems like a natural fit because they have included Constantine into the show.
And yes, obviously this may seem like a "ratings grab" gimmick, but that does not mean it shouldn't be good.
Catch the latest episode of "Arrow" tonight at 8:00pm ET/PT on The CW. But before that watch the preview below!
