"Fifty Shades Darker" fans are definitely getting irritated with the production delays of the film. And now, the blame is pointed to Jamie Dornan, who portrays the character of Christian Grey, as he requested for additional time off so he can be able to spend more time with his wife Amelia Warner and daughter Dulce. The production has reportedly been delayed for a year. The news came amid Dornan's wife pregnancy rumors.
"Fifty Shades Darker" star Jamie Dornan and his wife Amelia Warner are reportedly expecting their second child. Thus, the 33-year-old actor allegedly requested the production of the "Fifty Shades of Grey" sequel to be pushed back further in order for him to prepare for the arrival of his new child as well as to focus his attention to his wife and two-year-old daughter. Unfortunately, the move would be disadvantageous to the film's production timeline, Fashion & Style noted.
Aside from Jamie Dornan, other reasons for "Fifty Shades Darker" production delay have also been cited. These include the casting of the key characters in the second book such as the roles of Mrs. Robinson, Jack Hyde and Christian's former sub Leila Williams. As of late, one of these key roles have had actors attached to them.
There are also speculations, however, that certain actors including Charlize Theron, Ian Somerhalder and Alexis Bledel have been offered the aforementioned roles. But nothing has been confirmed yet. Meanwhile, Dornan and his co-star Dakota Johnson will reprise their roles as Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele in "Fifty Shades Darker" along with Eloise Mumford, Rita Ora, Victor Rasuk, Luke Grimes and Max Martini.
With the casting issues and Jamie Dornan's time off, these may play a more vital role in the delays as the scheduled time for "Fifty Shades Darker" production draws closer. If not, producers will definitely have a difficult time in getting the film completed by its scheduled release date, unless they hire a casting director soon.
"Fifty Shades Darker" is scheduled to premiere on Feb. 10, 2017. While the third installment, "Fifty Shades Freed," is expected to follow with a release a year later in February 2018. Whether or not producers manage to hit these premiere dates will be made clearer in the coming months, Inquisitr reported.
In other news, Jamie Dornan has reportedly purchased a new crib. According to Latin Post, "Fifty Shades Darker" actor's new Cotswolds mansion is worth £1.75 million and is hidden in a secluded woodland area. It also includes five bedrooms, two reception rooms, landscaped gardens, a swimming pool and a tennis court.
