"Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them" has taken the world by storm since details about the movie's plotline and characters were released.
CinemaBlend reported that "Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them," a book written by best-selling author J.K. Rowling is a prequel to the "Harry Potter" series. The latest novel adapted for the big screen is also fastly rising to become one of the most highly awaited films of 2016. Harry Potter fans are excited to take a peek into the magical world she has created.
Eddie Redmayne, who plays Newt Scamander, is a magizoologist wizard who roams 1926 New York City searching for a pack of marauding beasts who were in his possession before. In the course of his expedition, he met three other characters who helped him in the grave task of securing the magical creatures while battling a determined group of foes.
The actor told Entertainment Weekly during a recent visit on the set of "Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them" that Newt Scamander will have a team of adventurer who will aid him and added, "The assumption is Newt’s front and center, but it’s a quartet. So that feels like it slightly takes the [pressure] off. At least, that’s what I’m telling myself."
The latest update for Eddie Redmayne's "Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them" revealed his character, Newt Scamander, will not be the lone hero fighting off possibly seven creatures, several of which were featured in the "Harry Potter" movies.
The following characters will join Newt Scamander on his adventure in New York City: Katherine Waterston plays a devoted Magical Congress of the United States of America (MACUSA) employee Porpentina "Tina" Goldstein, who's been doomed to complete tasks below her talents after siding with the wrong person; Alsion Sudol portrays Tina's roommate and younger sister, Queenie Goldstein, who has the ability to peel back the layers of the mind, gather information and correctly interpret it with the use of telepathy; Dan Fogler plays a hopeful baker working in a factory and the first major character ever in the world of Harry Potter who has no magical abilities called No-Maj (Muggle).
Incidentally, the American community of wizards in 1926 is in hiding from No-Maj persecution. As such, Samantha Morton's Mary Lou leads a group called New Salem Philanthropic Society that endeavors to expose the wizarding community.
The counterpart of Harry Potter's Ministry of Magic called MACUSA is led by a wizarding president and the office is hidden inside the Woolworth Building itself.
Furthermore, Entertainment Weekly revealed that seven creatures expected to make an appearance in "Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them" are as follows:
1. Niffler — Shiny things like gold teeth and buckles attracts the attention of this treasure-hunting creature who's a favorite of Eddie Redmayne.
2. Lethifold — resembles a dark cloak that flits along the ground and then smothers its victims while they're sleeping.
3. Ashwinder — embers of a magical fire left to burn unchecked creates this pale serpent.
4. Bowtruckle — spotted in "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix." This particular hand-sized stick-like creature resides in Newt Scamander's pocket.
5. Augurey — a green-black Irish version of a phoenix whose mournful cry foretells a death or signals rain is coming.
6. Merpeople — living underwater, these human-like sea creatures was first seen in "Harry Potter and the Goblet Of Fire."
7. Crup — this creature, a dog bred by a wizard is very loyal and has a forked tail resembling a Jack Russell Terrier.
