"The Walking Dead" has revealed its latest cast addition. Fans will surely love this update since the new character to come the series is much awaited for those who have read the books.
According to Collider, the arrival of Jeffrey Dean Morgan's character who's (spoiler!) a villain named Negan have been expected for quite some time as "The Walking Dead" comics' fans knew that the show's protagonists will have to face a new major threat.
Clues to his coming aboard were revealed in Andrew Lincoln's previous comments to The Hollywood Reporter that stated "there are astonishingly brilliant and thrilling characters that I am convinced we would be idiots not to meet in our journey; I would be very surprised if we don't see Negan on the horizon in the not-too-distant future," as well as the recent addition of Paul Monroe aka 'Jesus' portrayed by "Luck" alum Tom Payne. Monroe would eventually be a key member of the community of Alexandria who will wage a war against Negan and his cohorts.
Before Jeffrey Dean Morgan was cast for the role of Negan in "The Walking Dead," other actors who were considered to play the character were Matt Dillon, Timothy Olyphant and Garret Dillahunt among a slew of other talents.
Jeffrey Dean Morgan who was seen in "Watchmen" as the Comedian has also starred in "Grey's Anatomy" as Izzie Stevens' (Katherine Heigl) patient turned lover Denny Duquette, a fan favourite. The 49-year-old actor is also no stranger to the horror-fantasy-drama genre as he played John Winchester, father of the famous Winchester brothers — Dean and Sam of "Supernatural." He's set to appear in next year's highly anticipated superhero flick, "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" as Thomas Wayne.

Here are three things you should know about "The Walking Dead" major villain, Negan:
1. Jeffrey Dean Morgan's character, Negan is a dastardly character who drops the F word frequently.
Aside from killing, Negan curses a lot. Comicbook.com revealed his lines literally include around 20 words and almost all of them is the c-word, f-word or mother.
2. Negan is the leader of a group called Saviors.
Negan heads the band of savages who follows his every command, not that they're willing to but because if they refuse or disregard his word he will burn half of their faces with iron to remind the rest of the members that they did not behave well and also screw their wives.
Negan uses intimidation and force to enslave other communities as well as Alexandria.
3. Negan carries "Lucille."
"Lucille" is a baseball bat wrapped in barbed wire that Negan carries every time. Apparently, this bat was used to kill Glenn in the comic series issue #100, as per The Hollywood Reporter.
Negan swings his bat straight onto Glenn's head when he lined him up together with Rick, Carl, Heath, Maggie, Michonne and Sophia outside the walls where he played a game on who will be his victim.
