"Prometheus 2" director Ridley Scott and his actors have been talking about the sequel for quite a while now.
According to Collider, every update for the proposed sequel gets people more and more curious about the film. Fortunately Scott was kind enough to spill some of the plot details and give this film a dash of brilliance by adding "Spectre" screenwriter John Logan.
But let's address the big question first. Who created the Xenomorphs in "Aliens?" Ridley Scott said in an IGN interview that he already knows the script for the movie and after another sequel for "Prometheus", the film will then go back to the "Alien" movie and address who created these vicious beings.
If fans may recall the first film, Noomi Rapace's character was searching for the "Engineers" and saw a Xenomorph hatching. Which led to questions: Who would make such a thing? Are these aliens warriors? Or are they just weapons of a bigger and more sinister being?
Scott then further reiterated that the aliens in the movie were some sort of weapon for "bacterial warfare." Adding that the original ship that contained them, aimed for total destruction.
As for John Logan, the screenwriter known for penning "Skyfall" and the latest Bond movie, "Spectre," has agreed with Scott to go on board with the project. According to the report, he and the "Prometheus" director will start hammering the movie's script into shape ahead of next year's production start date.
Screen Crush noted that apart from "Prometheus 2," the director announced that he has actually more than one sequel in the works, along with Neil Blomkamp's "Alien" sequel on hold for the time being.
He explained that he regrets stepping away from the franchise and now, he hopes to steer the ship in the right way.
He said, "I'm trying to keep this for myself. I let the other one [Alien] get away from me - I shouldn't have... I'm trying to re-resurrect the beast and let if off the hook for a while because I'm coming back into the back-end of Alien 1. I'm gradually getting to Alien 1."
It would be interesting to see the "Alien" universe gets further explored like what the first "Prometheus" movie has achieved.
And with a talented screen writer on board and Scott having a string of hits as of late, it's not hard to get excited for the upcoming movie.
As of now, "Prometheus 2" has no release date yet, but "Alien: Paradise Lost" is slated for a release on May 30, 2017.
