Following the emotional finale episode of “Sister Wives” Season 6 wherein Kody Brown’s wife Meri opened up about the “catfish” incident, the latter received support from Celine Dion’s impersonator Elisa Furr.
Perhaps Furr was quite moved by the tell-all of Kody's first wife that she decided to take to Twitter to voice out how she's not at all pleased with how Meri fell victim to catfisher Jackie Overton's scheme.
Furr wrote: "TRUTH. Rape victims don't LOOK to get Raped. Human Trafficking victims either. INNOCENT Catfish victims r not LOOKING. They r targeted."
Meri, who gushed about feeling lonely while she was being catfished by Overton, retweeted the meaningful post of Elisa.
Prior which she also lauded Elisa for admitting that she is an impersonator when she tweeted: "I may be an "Impersonator" but I wear that title proudly! I make people happy, I don't use it to hurt people! MeriBrown1."
According to Tribute to Celine Dion, Furr is a Las Vegas headliner and an international touring entertainer best known for being one of Dion's famous impersonators.
Prior her supportive tweets to Meri, Furr also took a jab at the woman who tricked the "Sister Wives" star by writing: "I guess it doesn't pay to stalk and terrorize people huh Jackie? Bah bye," alongside a snap of a publication that featured Overton's arrest.
Last night, Meri finally opened up about the catfishing incident that made rounds on the Internet while her polygamist family continued to face trials.
Explaining why she fell for the person Overton channeled, Meri was quoted as saying by People: "I got into this place where I was talking to different people on social media and kind of making friends. I got into this situation talking to one person who really made me trust him. He was just saying all the right things."
Daily Mail has learned that Kody's first wife was battling loneliness after her daughter Mariah left for college when she stumbled upon the catfisher.
"Usually when people go through empty nest it's a couple doing it together, But in a plural situation that's not the case. I'm in this place where I just feel alone, isolated, lonely. I don't feel like anyone else in the family can even relate," she revealed.
Her loneliness led her to have form this strong emotional connection with Overton's fake identity Sam Cooper. "He was just saying all the right things, being very kind and very compassionate and understanding and I trusted him," she said of Cooper.
Meri Brown used to be the only legit wife of "Sister Wives" patriarch Kody Brown. When the latter decided to marry Robyn to secure the latter's custody over her children, Meri made the difficult decision to let her husband do it, as per Hollywood Life.
In the wake of the online affair and the emotional revelation of Mery Brown's true feelings, Kody took to Twitter to assure his first wife that he loves and supports her.
He tweeted: "I will love and supper @MeriBrown1 ALWAYS!!! She needs to let me. Working on it! #SisterWives."
