Bands and singers that are set to hold performances around France have canceled their shows in view of the ruthless attack in the city of Paris last Friday night.
The barbaric act killed 129 people with more than 350 wounded and 100 left in serious condition. The killings took place in seven crowded locations around the busy district.
There were shootings in a restaurant, a bar, a stadium, and at a concert hall. Most of the casualties are people who were attending the concert of the American rock band Eagles of Death Metal. A total of 89 people lost their lives at the Le Bataclan concert hall when armed men barged in and started shooting while the sold out concert is on-going.
In any case, another rock band, the Foo Figters is also having its concert tour around Europe and set to perform in France in 2 dates - November 16 at Bercy Arena and November 17 at Halle Tony Garnier Hall, but The Wall Street Journal revealed that these shows were already axed due to the bloody attack. In addition, the performance schedules in Spain and Italy were called off too.
The band announced the cancellation of the concerts by posting a message on their official Facebook page.
"It is with profound sadness and heartfelt concern for everyone in Paris that we have been forced to announce the cancellation of the rest of our tour. In light of this senseless violence, the closing of borders, and international mourning, we can't continue right now. There is no other way to say it. This is crazy and it sucks. Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone who was hurt or who lost a loved one," the band members of Foo Fighters wrote.
On the other hand, the popular metal band Deftones, was supposed to hold two concert shows on Sunday and Monday. The group had been set to perform at the Bataclan as well, but announced that they will not push through with the performances anymore.
"Much has been said, as well as seen, on every media outlet about the events in Paris. Some of us were in attendance at the Le Bataclan, and the rest of our family, just blocks away on this night. We have been to Paris many, many times, and we've had some of the most amazing shows in this tremendously electric city. posted Deftones on Facebook.
The band also expressed their deepest condolences to all those who were affected by the tragedy. For fans, they assured that they will come back at the right time.
The Le Bataclan can hold more than 1,200 audience members and has been a concert venue for many high-profile artists around the world. But sadly, it now became a place of tragedy, with an event that can't be forgotten forever.
