Will Rick Castle's attempt to win back his wife Kate Beckett successful and effective in "Castle" Season 8 Episode 7? In the upcoming episode, the estranged couple is reportedly reuniting as Castle prepares a surprise for Beckett for their first anniversary. Unfortunately, his wife is not quite thrilled for a reunion but is actually contemplating a divorce.
In "Castle" Season 8 Episode 7 titled, "The Last Seduction," Rick is going all out for his wife in the romance department to mark their first anniversary, Latin Post noted. And this time, he accepted Slaughter's advice and decorated a party venue for the event. With the couple's ongoing estrangement, all pressures are on Rick as their relationship depends on his success.
"Tomorrow is our anniversary and I just can't bear the thought of spending it without you," Castle said to his wife, as seen on a promotional video for the upcoming episode, International Business Times quoted.
Beckett, however, was thinking about divorce. And aside from their upcoming anniversary in "Castle" Season 8 Episode 7, she will be pursuing a vicious killer of a slick conman, leading her and the crew into the exclusive social elite realm of New York. According to CarterMatt, she and Hayley will go undercover to find someone at a spa who has a tattoo on their butt. But of course, seeing the tattoo on one of the most private parts of a human body is quite challenging. As seen in another promo vid, Beckett and Hayley embarked on a chase scene, wearing only a towel.
"A seductive con man is killed, and the investigation has Castle and Beckett questioning New York City's upper crust," the synopsis for "Castle" Season 8 Episode 7 read, as per TV Guide. "Meanwhile, Castle has a surprise in store for his and Beckett's one-year anniversary as husband and wife."
Back to Castle's plan, since he wanted to spend their anniversary together with Beckett, he went to her office and connived with his wife's coworkers to prepare the surprise. But his plan appeared to be an epic fail as seen in "Castle" Season 8 Episode 7 trailer when something upsets him and his hand-wringing brought the celebratory banner, which hilariously ended with him covered with lots of confetti.
Meanwhile, since there are two episodes left before the series takes months-long hiatus and comes back in February, Beckett and Castle's official reconciliation has been planned in the upcoming episode titled, "Mr. and Mrs. Castle."
"You can read into that a little bit," co-showrunner Alexi Hawley recently told TV Line. "That's a really powerful last moment that shows you that all that love is still there."
"The reason why she created this separation, again, is out of love," fellow showrunner Terence Paul Winter added. "She wants him to remember her."
Despite raking low ratings when Beckett and Castle separated earlier in the season, their imminent reunion is expected to restore the fans' interest on the show. But the showrunners stressed that the real reason behind their breakup was over Beckett's fears that her work on the LockSat mystery might put her husband in danger.
