Michael Phelps announces that he's going to be a dad soon. This he revealed through the popular social networking site, Instagram.
"We found out 8weeks ago we were expecting... Today we're over 12 weeks and it looks like we're having a boy!!!" Phelps wrote on Nov. 18.
He also attached a picture of himself and fiancée Nicole Johnson. In the photo, Phelps gives Johnson a back hug while he places his hands on her tummy. Nicole is also holding a small black swim trunk bearing the initials MP.
On the other hand, Johnson proudly shared the good news on her social media too.
"Today marks 12 weeks and 5 days of us having a little one and yesterday we learned we're having a BOY! We couldn't be happier!!," she said.
Both are 30 years old and this is their first time to become parents. The couple is not yet married but they were engaged in February of this year.
Their engagement was also made known to the public via Instagram. The champion swimmer posted a photo which shows them frolicking on the snow and the image was simply captioned, "She said yes." The diamond engagement ring on Johnson's finger is very much visible in the snap.
In response to the post, the former Ms California updated her own page with a short message that reads: "I'm gonna be a Mrs. @m_phelps00."
Moreover, the pair has been dating for about six years, however, it was an on-again, off-again kind of relationship. They began to go out exclusively in 2009 and broke up for a while in 2012.
According to DailyMail, the soon-to-be wed couple would be welcoming their little bundle of joy on May 27. The estimated due date is only two and a half months prior to the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro where Phelps is set to compete.
But although many people congratulated the couple and expressed good wishes for the coming of baby Phelps, it turns out that there is someone who is not happy with the news at all, and she is Taylor Lianne Chandler.
Chandler is the self-proclaimed former girlfriend of the Olympic medalist. She is an intersex who has been telling people that she and Phelps had been a couple, but the swimmer never once publicly acknowledged being romantically involved with her.
And when Phelps revealed that he will be a father a soon, Chandler was fuming mad and started a barrage of tirades against Michael. On her Facebook she ranted about how Phelps supposedly left her broken and "destroyed."
"One of the hardest things ever for someone dealing with a gender challenge to deal with is an ex having a baby with another woman," she began. "He took everything from me, so yes I am bitter. He made me emotionally crippled, broken and a mere shell of who I used to be," said Chandler.
She also commented on the swimmer's sexcapade, "You haven't even scratched the surface of who this man is and the events of the last year. Let's just say he makes Charlie Sheen look like an amateur!"
Lastly, she followed this up with a nasty accusation: "I hope that baby is born free of STDs. He's not the safest when pursuing his extra curricular activities outside the girls he is 'dating.'"
