There were reports that Kim Kardashian is planning to give birth early due to health reasons. It was revealed that like with her first pregnancy, she is having a difficult time because of an array of complications brought about by her current condition.
US Weekly stated that the reality show star wants to bring on the birth of her baby artificially on Thanksgiving day. Her original due date is on Christmas, but after her obstetrician saw more water in her placenta during a recent ultrasound, she and her doctors started to discuss about delivering her baby ahead of the due.
Moreover, the doctors relayed that the excess water may be an indication that she is experiencing gestational diabetes, thus early birth would be better in order to prevent any risky situation.
On her own web page, the star wrote in detail about the complications she suffered when she was pregnant with her daughter North. And this previous experience with pregnancy makes it understandable why she is somehow scared of giving birth.
In her post entitled, "High Risk Pregnancy" she wrote: "I have been very open and honest about my pregnancy struggles. This pregnancy, I'm definitely scared for my delivery, but trying my best to be hopeful and not stress out too much!"
She went on, "Last pregnancy, I had a condition called preeclampsia, which is a serious condition you can get during pregnancy." Kardashian explained that the only way to get away from its dangers is to give birth early. She added that, in medical records, only five percent of pregnant women gets this condition.
The TV personality further described how it is to have the disorder: "It causes your body and face to swell, and that was very uncomfortable for me. I had early-onset preeclampsia and I had to deliver at 34 weeks, almost six weeks early."
Her post also narrated that she had to induce labor when she delivered North two years ago. And when her daughter was finally out, her placenta was supposed to come out as well but it did not. Thus, her doctor had to insert his whole arm in order to remove her placenta.
"My doctor had to stick his entire arm in me and detach the placenta with his hand, scraping it away from my uterus with his fingernails," said Kardashian.
As she stated, that situation was very risky so she was thankful she got through it without any other bad events.
"They say that this is what some women died from as a result of childbirth back in the day, without proper care. I'm so thankful that my doctor was able to catch this and address the issue immediately." Kim disclosed that what happened during her first childbirth made it difficult for her to conceive again.
Meanwhile, Kim put on about 52 pounds while pregnant with her second child with Kanye West. She previously shared that her unborn son is very healthy and already seven pounds in weight.
