"Full House" alum John Stamos, who has an estimated net worth of $40 million, is currently making headlines after he pleaded no contest for his driving under the influence of a drug charge at a Los Angeles courthouse on Tuesday.
On Nov. 24, Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office spokesman Ricardo Santiago told People that John Stamos won't be facing jail time. Instead, the 52-year-old actor-musician was sentenced to a three-year probation and was ordered to attend 52 Alcoholics meetings in the next year. In addition, he will also undergo two-hours of drug and alcohol counseling.
Considered as one of the richest Hollywood television actors who has amassed a net worth of $40 million as The Richest listed, John Stamos was also ordered to pay a $390 fine for the misdemeanor and enroll in a three-month alcohol abuse program. Stamos' sentence came after his DUI arrest in June.
On June 12, John Stamos was pulled over while driving in Santa Monica, California for erratic driving, as reported by Us Weekly. During that time, he was briefly hospitalized at the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center due to a possible medical condition. He was then arrested under the influence of GHB, a known date rape drug, which he apparently used as a fitness supplement.
Meanwhile, John Stamos' sentencing came after he entered a treatment program for substance abuse in July, less than a month after his arrest. According to Daily Mail, he successfully completed the 30-day live-in treatment.
"I've had a rough year with my mom dying, so it all came to a head, and it was a turning point," Stamos told Details for the magazine's October issue. "You either continue on that path — and some of it's fun, but a lot of it's not — or there's this other thing, this golden opportunity sitting there with all this work and all this goodwill that you have going for you. That's the key."
Best known for his television appearances in "Full House" and "Grandfathered," John Stamos also became a household name as a guest star for "ER" and "Glee," Celebrity Net Worth revealed. Stamos got an early big break after he played the role of Blackie Parrish in the long-running TV series "General Hospital" in 1984. But it was his nomination for a Daytime Emmy Award for his debut that paved the way for his future success.
Apart from his acting career, John Stamos made his net worth increase by being a noted musician as well. He can play the drums, guitar and various other instruments and has collaborated with The Beach Boys for several times.
