Just one more finale episode and Tyra Banks’ “America’s Next Top Model” franchise is no more. Fortunately or unfortunately, fans of “ANTM” Cycle 22 should bear with the pain of anticipation for the last show of this season and of the franchise since no new episode is airing this Black Friday.
Apparently, The CW's "ANTM" is not airing the finale part 2 of cycle 22 this Nov. 27. Instead of finally learning who among the remaining models Mame, Mikey, Nyle and Lacey are advancing to the top 2, fans are left with a week without their regular dose of reality TV modeling.
As per International Business Times, the second part of the finale will showcase the model hopefuls' runway show, which was shot at the Walt Disney Concert Hall.
The remaining contenders are gonna strut on the catwalk wearing Rocky Gathercole and while a string quartet performs live music to make the show even more compelling.
The final four are battling each other based off of gender, so Mame is fighting Lacey while Makey is fighting Nyle. CelebDirtyLaundry noted that this is basically a good thing since the boys will have to worry about beating each other, and the same thing for the girls.
"Meaning Mikey no longer had to worry about what either Mame or Lacey were doing on their shoots. He just had to focus on being better than Nyle," wrote the gossip site.
The gender battle obviously started in the part 1 of the finale. LatinosPost has learned that the ladies have become even more competitive since only one of them will advance to the finale. Despite the serious atmosphere, it seems that the in-house drama continues since Mame and Mikey hinted last week that they may have spent one intimate night together.
The excitement was really at an all-time high last episode since many were glued to their screens hoping for their favorite model to advance to the final two. However, as per usual, the show dropped a cliffhanger, and viewers didn't get to see who are moving forward to the last two slots.
Also in the previous episode of "ANTM" Cycle 22, Tyra dropped a shocker when she said that no one was eliminated and instead all four will undergo a series of challenges, like the Nylon shoot and the Zappos couture, leading fans to assume that the elimination will happen in part 2.
However, while the elimination is on hold, speculations that there will be two winners this season emerged among fans. Well, nothing has been set in stone, but it would be delightful to have two winners — one for the male category and another for the female — as the show reaches its final stop.
Banks has already confirmed that this is the last cycle of the long-running reality TV modeling franchise, so surely it will be a huge nod to fans who want to see cycle 22 wrap up with a bang.
"ANTM" Cycle 22, episode 16 is set to air next Friday night at 8 p.m. ET on The CW. This week, since the show is not airing a new episode, The CW is airing "Kung Fu Panda Holiday" instead.
