According to reports, Beckinsale and Affleck have allegedly enjoyed a brief romance while they were shooting the film, "Pearl Harbor" back in 2001. Now, the 42-year-old "Underworld" actress is reportedly finding comfort in Affleck following her alleged divorce from husband Len Wiseman.
Kate Beckinsale and Ben Affleck's alleged romance emerged after The Sun claimed that friends of the couple believed they both share a "spark" and even suggested that the pair should start dating now since Affleck has split from his wife of 10 years and actress Jennifer Garner. And when Beckinsale's marriage ended in February, the 43-year-old "Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice" actor became a "welcome source of comfort" for the actress.
"Kate [Beckinsale] used to be madly in love with Ben [Affleck]. He would make her giddy with excitement any time they were in the same room," a source told the publication, as per Daily Mail. "She's turned to him for support as a friend because they've stayed in touch during her difficult time. Some of their friends have suggested that they're made for each other and give a proper relationship a go."
Neither Kate Beckinsale nor Ben Affleck ever claimed a romance, which apparently happened when Beckinsale's relationship with long-term boyfriend Michael Sheen ended. But the alleged love affair would have been short-lived since she was then linked to Wiseman. Unfortunately, their marriage was on the rocks as Kate's 42-year-old director-screenwriter husband was seen sans his wedding ring with 24-year-old model CJ Franco while his wife was in Prague filming her latest movie project, "Underworld 5."
"They have both had complicated schedules and have grown apart," a source recently said. But the insider added that there was 'no drama' with the separation and insisted the couple are on amicable terms.
"They are still friendly and spend time together in L.A. when Kate is there," an insider added. "There has been no drama. It's just not Kate's style."
Meanwhile, a representative for Kate Beckinsale denied the rumors about a budding romance between the actress and Ben Affleck. And Beckinsale, who was seen without her wedding ring when she attended the Evening Standard Theatre Awards last week, has kept her mind on work.
"This completely untrue and there is absolutely no validity to this report," a rep for the star told Daily Mirror.
The rumors about Kate Beckinsale and Ben Affelck were also slammed by Gossip Cop, saying the allegations that even declared Beckinsale as "the one that got away" are "utter nonsense."
