The Microsoft Surface Pro 4 is now in its 4th version, making plenty of critics ask if this is finally the Microsoft tablet to replace the laptop and even dethrone the iPad as the king of tablets.
According to Pocket-Lint, Microsoft has the upper hand on Apple due to the Surface Pro 4 flexing its tech muscles against the iPad Pro.
Currently, the Microsoft tablet is one of the most refined and comprehensive models in the Surface series line. And if you're looking in the market for a laptop-scale tablet, it would be one of the best choices.
Enough chit chat, let's review this thing.
Design
Its design, like most tablets, is sleek and simplistic. It has a 12.3-inch display and has about 8.4mm of thickness. Actually, it's even slimmer than some modern smartphones
It has one USB port on its side so data transfer will not be an issue.
The Surface Pro 4 looks classy as well with its elegant magnesium casing that looks beautiful, but very durable.
Screen
The device is noticeably brighter than the last generation model, while also having decent viewing angles and bright and vibrant colors. Although the report said that it's still a bit reflective, it's not really much of an issue for users.
The Microsoft Surface Pro 4 has what you call a "PixelSense" feature that means you get 2,736 x 1,824 pixels across its 12.3-inch panel. If you have the time to check its screen capabilities, you'll soon find that it's quite exceptional.
Specs
With beauty comes more power. The latest tablet from Microsoft is not all looks because for its processor, it has an Intel Core i5 2.4GHz processor and about 8GB of RAM -- as good as most laptops nowadays.
Battery Life
For its battery life, IGN noted that, although far from being bad, it's quite underwhelming. The tablet does not run as long as its rivals, but it has a respectable battery life of six and a half hours.
This is more than enough for writing notes, browsing the web, catching up with the news, but definitely not for heavy use.
It also has some thermal issues; however, Design & Trend noted that it can be remedied easy by using it near a cooling fan.
Other Features
Apart from its USB and mini-DP port, the Microsoft Surface Pro 4 also has a magnetic stylus that you can use for a more hands-on scribble; in addition to that, it's also magnetic so it sticks to the gadget itself.
The Surface Pro 4 clocks in a price of $999 for the Intel i5 model with 4GB of RAM, while the additional keyboard accessory is priced at $130.
