Hoping to land a new job in the New Year? Well, you are in luck since CareerBuilder and Economic Modeling Specialists International (EMSI) have recently released a compilation of the most in-demand jobs or occupations for 2016. Whether you have a college education or not, you'll definitely end up with your dream job next year.
Last month, the national unemployment rate decreased to 5 percent, the lowest it's been since 2008. Based on statistics, 271,000 new jobs were created and the majority of most in-demand jobs were in technology, healthcare and retail. In addition, building on a trend has also been gaining interest this year. Thus, many employers are currently looking for qualified candidates who are willing to apply.
To determine the most in-demand jobs for 2016, however, is not as easy as many of us think. Fortunately, CareerBuilder collaborated with Economic Modeling Specialists Intl. (EMSI) to analyze a range of 700 occupations between January and September 2015. According to Forbes, the compiled list highlighted that a college degree is not required and the number of jobs posted by companies each month far exceeds the number of workers the employers are able to hire.
"For over 100 occupations in the U.S., there is far more job posting activity than hiring month to month," CareerBuilder CEO Matt Ferguson said. "While many of these jobs are in the technology and health care sectors, there are also plenty of opportunities in areas such as marketing, sales, and transportation."
On top of the list for in-demand jobs that don't require a college degree are Heavy and Tractor-Trailer Truck Drivers. This has been the second year that the job has topped the list. It is then followed by Food Service Managers. For the complete list, see below.

Some of these positions, however, might not be filled due to job seekers feeling uncertain about their prospects. But as per CareerBuilder's corporate communications manager Mary Lorenz, job seekers should not underestimate themselves when applying for these in-demand positions, Fast Company noted.
"Job seekers often feel discouraged from applying to a job if they do not meet 100 percent of the qualifications listed in the ad," Lorenz said. "However, our research shows that more employers are willing to hire candidates who do not meet every single qualification and train them on the job."
