Donald Trump is challenging President Barack Obama to release his college and passport records by the end of October. This is reported by the New York real estate mogul and reality show host. He promises to contribute $5 million to a charity of the President’s choice if he keeps his end of the deal.
"Frankly, it's a check that I very much want to write," Trump said
Trump made the offer in a video posted to his Twitter account on Wednesday. He called Obama "the least transparent president in the history of this country," and said that by taking the deal Obama would settle the qualms the public has regarding his past history.
The wealthy TV mogul had also drawn attention to publicity last year pertaining to whether Obama was born in the U.S. and eligible to be president. President Barack Obama subsequently gave out his birth certificate evidencing his birth in 1961 in the State of Hawaii. In the video, Trump said he was proud to have pressured Obama to discharge the birth certificate or "whatever it may be."
"If he releases these records it will end the question and indeed the anger of many Americans."
Trump has supported and endorses Republican Mitt Romney for president. Obama campaign spokeswoman Jennifer Psaki declined to comment on the Trump video, stating that "given Trump is one of his biggest supporters, this is a question best directed to the Romney team in Boston."
