The Plan For the Next AI Assistant Revealed by Mark Zuckerberg [VIDEO]

Mark Zuckerberg wants build an artificial intelligence assistant in 2016, as he declared in a Facebook post on Sunday. The founder and chief executive of the social media network announced that his personal challenge for the year ahead is to build an AI assistant powered to help him at work and home.

Mr. Zuckerberg wrote "you can think of it kind of like Jarvis in Iron Man," referring to the AI assistant used by the movie's fictional main character Mr. Stark. Zuckerberg also declared that he would code himself the AI assistant and start his ambitious project by exploring pre-existing technologies.

The Facebook's owner plans to train his AI virtual assistant to control various functions in his home by taking voice commands and understanding his voice, according to Engadget. Among the features planned by Mr. Zuckerberg for his AI assistant are included face recognition of his friends when they ring the doorbell, surveying his daughter's room, helping him to visualize data in VR in order to be able to better organize his work and build better services.

In parallel with Zuckerberg own challenge, Facebook is developing an AI assistant called "M", according to a blog published in The Wall Street Journal. "M" is embedded in the Messenger app provided by Facebook social media network. Mr. Zuckerberg hasn't chosen a name yet for his AI virtual assistant. He declared that he will probably use Facebook-developed technology in order to develop his application.

There are many other companies interested to the kind of home automation Zuckerberg wants. However, his personal challenge for the year ahead is to build his AI virtual assistant from scratch. Zuckerberg is famous for taking an ambitious challenge every year. Among other challenges he has taken on in previous years are included leaning Mandarin and reading at least two books every month. According to Sky News, about his challenge for 2016 he declared: "This should be a fun intellectual challenge to code this for myself.
