NFL Quarterback Tom Brady Has Strict Diet That Excludes An Entire Vegetables Group, Brady's Personal Chef Spills Menu

It's around the corner, NFL season is almost close and athletes like Tom Brady are prepped up and ready to tackle.

Tom Brady, the American football quarterback for the New England Patriots in NFL is planning to play football until he's 40 years old. That's a high possibility given the fact that his preparation for the game is intensified with a particular diet.

The secret to his athletic and digestive success? Tom Brady's personal chef Allen Campbell. Campbell, who also caters to Gisele Bündchen, requires Brady to be on a strict diet. Campbell says that 80% of what Brady eats are all vegetables. And these veggies are only bought fresh and organic.

But that doesn't mean he eats all kinds of vegetables. He specifically excludes a certain vegetable group. Brady does not eat nightshades (which includes eggplants, tomatoes, peppers and potatos). He prefers not to eat them because they are not anti-inflammatory. Campbell explains that he does eat some tomatoes every now and then but not a lot.

Brady also does not drink caffeinated beverages, coffee or dairy. When Campbell is cooking, he doesn't use MSG, no white flour or white sugar as well.

During break time, the athlete snacks on vegetable sushi rolls, fruits or raw chocolate chip cookies. These are all made at home but when they do get out of town, online reports claims that Campbell contacts the hotel Brady is staying in and gives them the list of what his menu should be. This kind of diet may help continue bringing Brady to his 40s in NFL.

Campbell enjoys working with Brady:

I think that's what makes [the job] so gratifying for me. If I was cooking for anyone else who didn't respect and appreciate my food as much as they did, it wouldn't be as gratifying for me. I think that's what makes me happy at the end of the day. I get to really do what I want, and they get to benefit.
