We have seen The Flash and Arrow episodes crossing over several times but how about a triple threat? How about Arrow, The Flash and Supergirl cross over this time? Executive Producer Greg Berlanti talks about the possibilities.
A while back, Greg Berlanti said that he would love to see the show Supergirl from CBS with The CW's Arrow and The Flash cross over but he also said that it might not be as easy as everyone thinks.
Berlanti, who executively produces all three shows had this to say during the Television Critics Association winter press tour on January 10, 2016 at Pasadena, California:
As a fan, I would love it. I personally never rule anything out.
However, he also added that if all three shows from two different networks were to cross over, it would have to be logistically and properly planned in the next few months. The team behind the shows have to consider the financial and corporate aspects involved with all three shows and two networks.
Also, the producers and writers have to think about the big plot that has to happen when all three shows and characters converge.
All these have to be considered before moving forward to start production. The creative teams from all three shows already have some thoughts about the plot considering that all characters are from two different comic worlds, but nothing is final yet.
The ideas may be there but Berlanti made it clear that there are no official conversations with anybody official as of yet. Though CBS president Nina Tassler and The CW president Mark Pedowitz are open to cross-network episodes (plus it would be good business), Tassler mentioned that it may be difficult to pull off character-wise. Crossing universes are sensitive but despite these challenges, it seems everyone is excited about the prospect of the three popular character leads in one environment.
