Meet Estie Kung, an eight year old chef prodigy which can teach aspiring chefs that size and age doesn't matter. Kung is the youngest competitor to enter Man vs. Child: Chef Showdown. Her biggest dream was to become a chef and she's done it.
The U.S. TV program Man vs. Child: Chef Showdown is a competition where young prodigies are pitted against veteran chefs for bragging rights. Kung was the youngest competitor to join and this is what she had to say about it during an interview:
Being on the show has been fun because people underestimated me. So I could win very easily.
Like many aspiring chefs, passion for cooking most likely started at an early age and for Kung, it started when she was 3 years old. Her love for cooking and food started at a young age and should inspire people looking to find work that they really love from things they are passionate about. She continues to learn about food and cooking which means she doesn't stop learning.
She was exposed to a few cooking shows like Junior Master Chef which eventually prompted her to tell her mother, Laura Kung...
I want to be at that show.
The age limit didn't stop the young Kung from pursuing her dreams.
Estie Kung is just one of the many young chef prodigies that are rising up in the cooking, TV and restaurant industry such as Flynn McGarry, Greg Grossman and many more.
Touring around Asia, busy promoting the show, Kung says that when she grows up she wants to become a full-pledged chef. For now, she's having fun while eating her favorite food - caviar.
Kung is currently on tour around Asia to promote the program since its successful debut in 2015. The program will air in Asia on January 26 at 7:00 PM and 10:00 PM on the Lifestyle Channel, online posts confirmed.
