Supermodel Gigi Hadid knows as much about burgers as the average American. The American fashion model recently won MasterChef with her cooked beef patty.
The Sports Illustrated cover model confessed that when she first lived in New York she tried different burgers every week. She goes on to add...
...to find my favorite burger in New York.
The competition was between Hadid and Devon Windsor, a fellow Victoria's Secret model. The two models were ready to compete and even brought their own ingredients.
Hadid planned on making the best burger the judges ever tasted while Windsor made a black ink spaghetti with grilled shrimp in a white wine sauce with parmesan crostini.
What was the burger that won Hadid the competition? She made a beef patty with pickled jalapenos and a spiced crispy onion nest with potato crisps on the side.
She was very passionate about the competition especially when Ramsay noticed that she was not using the safety guards to cut onions. Concerned, Ramsay told Tosi that she might lose her fingertips.
The burger was perfectly cooked at medium rare. Ramsay was so delighted that he describes her burger as delicious while Tosi described it juicy and the chips on the side were perfect.
That doesn't mean Windsor didn't get praises for her pasta. Ramsay congratulated her and describing her creation as an accomplished work.
She told MasterChef judges jokingly that Gordon Ramsay and Christina Tosi that they may want to add her creation to the menu after the competition. Winning the competition, Hadid said that being in the MasterChef kitchen is much more intimidating than walking the runway.
She describes her burger experience in the following statement:
I always say, eat clean to stay fit, have a burger to stay sane.
The Vogue cover girl won the competition and the prize was given to the charity of her choice. Her chosen charity is The Global Lyme Alliance for Lyme Disease. The charity is close to her heart as she explains that her family (her mother, sister and brother) has lyme disease.
Not enough people know what Lyme disease is and the dangers of being bitten by an insect.
Hadid won $25,000 which will be used to help find a cure for the disease, reports indicated.
