The website was created by CareerBuilder and it aims to give high school students a better idea of what options are available for them based on their interests and passion. It matches them to the different professions available.
The site was originally built because of the increasing unemployment in newly graduated students and early college drop-outs in the Unted States. Studies show that these group of youths have uncertainties about their careers.
The website is not just a Q & A. Statistics and analytics were involved in its design which means the results are realistic and based on numbers.
What students need to do is just answer six questions that banks on your interests and passions in life and then the plan is to decide if they need to start working after high school life or take certain courses. It helps match interests to skills to careers and then encourage post-high school plans.
Rosemary Haefner, Chief Humar Resources at CareerBuilder explains that there is a skills gap because there is an information gap. If students are armed with the right information, they will be able to choose careers that are aligned with their own interests and skills.
