Maria Sharapova may not have beaten Serena Williams on the pro-tennis court, she did have the edge when it comes to her net worth.
It has always been a long and comptetition between Sharapova and Williams especially on the court. Off court is a different story because both sportswomen continue to make headlines as they are continously compared to each other by the media. If Williams take the court, the Russian Tennis superstar makes it off court through the annual list in Forbes as the top sportswoman with a total earnings of $29.7 million up until June 2015.
Her earnings are taken from her product endorsements and tennis prize money. Sharapova has been working hard to top Williams' $24.6 million. It may not have earned her a tennis title but she still remains as the crowd's favorite.
Her net worth means she is valued in and out of the tennis industry despite Williams' still holding the title as champion for women's singles. Sharapova isn't stopping there as she is getting ready to debut her premium brand of chocolates.
In May, Sharapova is unveiling Sugarpova's Premium Chocolates. WTA has announced that the sweet release is a joint venture with the Polish Barion Chocolatier.
"I traveled extensively around the world, in search for the right chocolatier," Sharapova stated when discussing about her new venture which was driven by her own love for chocolate. Products in her brand include milk chocolate, dark chocolate, dark chocolate with toasted coconut and milk chocolate with strawberry. Sharapova further explained that she wants the world to indulge and enjoy life's little pleasures. "This product wraps up many of my favorites in life: food, a smile and a slight moment of indulgence", Sharapova further explained to WTA.
Surely, the world's sweet cravings can't wait to taste premium chocolate and eventually rake in some more money for her net worth.
