Grammy award-winning American singer and songwriter Taylor Swift is making her entry into the mobile gaming world partnering with Glu Mobile Inc to develop her own gaming app as announced by the company on Wednesday, Huffington Post reported.
Just like Kim Kardashian's Kim K Hollywood, which is also powered by Glu, and Katy Perry's Katy Perry Pop, Swift has made an addition to her career involvement and development. Although the company did not provide any more details about the upcoming project they have with the pop star, they have shared that the game was slated for a release in 2016 and that it was a multi-partnership.
"We realize that Taylor and her global fan base expect a new and highly differentiated mobile gaming experience," Glu Mobile's chief executive Niccolo De Masi, said in a statement. Swift currently has nearly 71 million followers on Twitter and more than 74 million 'likes' on Facebook.
Since Swift's first app called the "Taylor Swift Experience" debuted as a top 10 app in the Music section of the iTunes App Store, Glu has pinned their hope on this game. This app that allows the viewers to go inside and explore Swift's music video for Blank Space in a 360-degree format has won an Emmy for "Best Original Interactive Program". The "Taylor Swift Experience" is available for both Apple and Android users.
In an article by The Hollywood Take, though Swifts net worth is already sky high, it will continue to reach the stars because of her upcoming mobile game.
Glu has always focused on signing up stars that have a large impact on social media to make personalized mobile games for. Apart from Kardashian and Swift, they have also included rapper Nicki Minaj and Hollywood favourite Jason Statham. Only last month, world renowned chef Gordon Ramsay was signed.
